12 Die in Bloody Siege at Pakistan Police Academy

A group of gunmen, some in police uniforms, attacked a police academy today and held it for hours, seizing hostages, throwing grenades and killing at least six trainee officers before being overpowered by Pakistani commandos. Four suspected militants were arrested while three blew themselves up in the eight-hour battle to retake the compound on the outskirts of Lahore in eastern Pakistan, said Rao Iftikar, a top government official in Punjab province.

Interior Ministry chief Rehman Malik said one of the men was an Afghan, and that investigators believe the attack had its roots along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan, where Taliban militants have hideouts. Meanwhile, a member of the Pakistani Taliban who used the name Omar Farooq told the Associated Press that a group called Fedayeen al Islam was behind the attack and that he was speaking on their behalf.

"As long as the Pakistan troops do not leave tribal areas, these attacks will continue."

Not only are Obama's economic "experts" (definition: X is an unknown quantity, and a spurt is a drip under pressure) printing more money, which causes inflation, and hiking taxes, which kills investment, businesses and jobs. When will we realize that government intervention is magnifying, not solving the problems that caused the crisis. When will the patience of the public with Obama's remedies run out? The Cloward-Piven Strategy and the New World Order

According to author James Simpson, Barack Obama is destroying our economy on purpose. The so-called "Cloward-Piven Strategy" calls for the destruction of capitalism in America by swelling the welfare rolls to the point of collapsing our economy and then implementing socialism by nationalizing many private institutions. It is, or will be, a brand of "undisguised authoritarian socialism" supported by the establishment. Obama, who worked for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), seems determined to bring the United States back to the communist economy of Soviet Russia, before it collapsed in a pile of useless rubble.

As the old commies used to say: Sic transit gloria mundi, or "Thus goes the glory of the world". But wait: There's MORE good news: Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is worried about the stability of China's huge portfolio of US government bonds, and tells Obama that he needs to stop spending like a drunken sailor. Now, aren't you glad you voted for Obama?

An Eye for an Eye MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD BLIND

Charles W. ("Chas") Freeman, Jr., born in 1943, was the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and president of the Middle East Policy Council. George Bush "I" named him ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He was our man in Riyadh when General Norman Schwarzkopf and 500,000 US troops arrived to evict the army of Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. Being an honest as well as an extremely distinguished public servant, he committed the "crime" of saying "NOBODY IS SUFFERING MORE THAN THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE" His other major faux pas was publishing "The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy" by Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer, which went on the New York Times best-seller list. This immediately but this wise and distinguished gentleman on AIPAC's "enemies" list, and deprived our great nation of the badly needed services of our most learned and wise elder statesman. Tit For Tat: Russian Bombers on OUR Doorstep!!

When I served in our US army, most of the troops under my command used to have a saying: "What goes around, comes around!" In other words, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Last year, Russia temporarily based a pair of Tu-160 bombers at an airbase in Venezuela in a carefully-choreographed display of force regarded as a warning message to the United States. Each of these strategic bombers is capable of carrying 12 cruise missiles that can be fitted with "nuqular" warheads. To make certain that we got their message, a Russian flotilla led by the "nuqular" powered cruiser Peter the Great also joined Venezuelan vessels for manoeuvers in the Caribbean late last year, timed to coincide with a visit to the region by President Dmitry Medvedev. By comparison with "W", President Obama is fully capable of thinking, and evaluating the consequences of this "friendly" Russian gesture. Mr. President, PLEASE use your fine mind to avoid a, as "W" used to say, "NUUQULAR"war!!!!!!!!!!

Say NO to more troops in Afghanistan!!!

All of us, including our new, "virgin" president, are not immune to Sir Isaac Newton's Third Law of Motion, as I found out while serving as Advisory Team Leader in the "Iron Triangle" of Vietnam: "To every action, there is an equal, and opposite reaction" Please click on the picture to enlarge, and read my "important" message.
The more troops we send, to be mutilated, or to die in the military morass that is Afghanistan, the more our enemies are going to insist that the desperate peasants of that poor country sacrifice many more of their sons and daughters to counter our escalation. In the end, both sides will lose, and more of our mutilated soldiers will grace the veterans' hospitals in the United States, while more one-legged Afghanis will suffer in the ramshackel huts of the "enemy".
Mr. President, read your bible before you engage in more useless and dangerous folly, and please fire the advisor who got you into this mess. And, for god's sake, and I mean this literally, try making peace for a "change"!

Patrick Buchanan: It's Pitchfork Time!

President Obama is gearing up for a fight on his budget. You see, his "employee" Tim Geithner is clueless about how to save the banks, and the Obama budget portends disaster for our republic. His budget calls for the radical restructuring of the US economy, a sweeping redistribution of power and wealth to government and Democratic constituencies. He has essentially declared war against the Right! Barack really has no mandate for his declaration of war. Republicans are under NO obligation to render bipartisan support to what is essentially Obama's coup d'etat, but Obama opted for a leftist power grab. Instead of government consuming 21% of our GDP, his budged will spend 28% in 2009 and run a deficit of $1.75 trillion, or 12.7% of GDP. This is four times the largest deficit of George W. Bush, and twice as large a share of the economy as any deficit since World War II. Add that 28% to the 12% spent by the states, counties and cities, and government will consume 40% of the entire economy in 2009. We are not "headed down the road to socialism". WE ARE THERE!!!.
