Media Lies and Fabrications: How to Restore Truth in Media Reporting!

A few years ago, Global Research published an important article by Peter Phillips, entitled: "How to Restore Truth in Media Reporting?" In it, they made some very substantial statements in regard to the important role of the media: We are a nation awash in a sea of information, yet we have a paucity of understanding. We are a country where over a quarter of the population know the names of all five members of the fictitious family from "the Simpsons", yet only one in a thousand can name all the rights protected under the amendment to the US Constitution. Journalistic values have been sold out to commercial interests, and not even our core, national and constitutionally protected values are sacred. Tens of thousands of Americans engaged in various social justice issues constantly witness how corporate media marginalize, denigrate or simply ignore their concerns. Activist groups, working on issues like 9/11 truth, election fraud, impeachment, war propaganda, civil liberties and torture, and many corporate-caused environmental crises have been systematically excluded from mainstream news and the national conversation leading to a genuine truth emergency in the country as a whole. Now, however, a growing number of activists are finally saying "enough!" and joining forces to address this truth emergency in the country as a whole. They are working to reveal the common corporate denominators behind the crises we face, to develop networks of trustworthy news sources, that tell the people what is really going on!

Did We Kill Osama Bin Laden

Our so-called "news-media" more likely the purveyors of really old, rotten and extremely SMELLY news, got their targets crossed once more, trying to pass off Osama Bin Laden's death as an exciting media event: Only Gordon Duff, Staff Writer and Senior Editor of the veterans today.com site got it right. They got their first reports of Bin Laden's death "yesterday" about a week ago. Reports outlining his trek to Pakistan began dotting the internet and news services. Fortunately, they began to "smell" something "cooking", surrounded by the foul odor of rotten eggs. 12 hours later, the ensuing media circus began, but Gordon wisely distanced his paper from the ensuing bullshit: It was either "sour grapes" or "do the work." Had this been even eight years ago, Gordon might have been cheering himself. Today, in the bright light of reason, we know that 9/11 NEVER INVOLVED HIJACKERS, or "bin Laden". Last night, statements made by Obama were filled with wild conjecture, hardly different than the "birthers" he had been bashing. Then again, why would bin Laden have to be killed and his body dumped in in the ocean?

Though NATO air strikes on Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi's compound have killedhis son and grandchildren, as battles between the revolutionaries and the army continue in the African country, in an interview viewed with Press TV, Hirsham Jaber, director of the Middle East Center for Studies and Public Relations from Beirut, commented on the current situation in Libya: The following is a transcript of his interview: "NATO says it targets Gaddafi's command centers and not specifically Gaddafi himself. However, Gaddafi's son and grandchildren were killed in a recent NATO air strike on his compound. Would you presume that that NATO's strikes are specified to kill Gaddafi? Though we are not certain that we have complete information that Gaddafi was in the building that they bombed, Bab al-Aziza was NOT a military target. Some of them, like Italy and Germany have said that Gaddafi or even his regime is NOT their business! They said that they are in Libya according to UN resolution 1973, that protects civilians, though they have not been able to protect the civilians for two months. The estimated number of killed civilians is around twelve to fifteen thousand!

There has been a lot of speculation over whether or not Donald Trump is actually running for president, or whether it is all just a big publicity stunt for his current season of the Celebrity Apprentice. If it is the latter, it is apparently working. But it appears that Trump might actually be telling the truth when he says he wants to be president. Appearing on The O'Reilly Factor, Bernie Goldberg reported that, according to his source, Trump REALLY is going to run! "I spoke to someone today, Bill. Someone who was in a position to know, and that person told me that Donald Trump has made up his mind, and that as of today, barring any unforeseen circumstances, he will run for the nomination of the Republican Party. "What they don't understand, even the journalists that I have a lot of respect for, what they don't understand is that millions of Americans who live between Manhattan and Malibu, think that that Donald Trump's greatest asset is that he is NOT a politician, that he doesn't talk like or think like a politician, or think like one! He is a businessman, and most politicians couldn't run a lemonade stand. That is the disconnect between the journalists who will be covering Donald Trump, and the people they are reporting for - The people who live in the United States of America! Need a war hero, Mr. Trump? Millions will gather once again in Tahrir square at the heart of Cairo, but this time to call for an all Arab march toward Israel. This mass protest will come two days prior to the actual march, as a clear message to Israel and the rest of the world, that liberating Palestine is the core cause for every Arab in the Middle East, and that restoring Jerusalem is all Arab's sacred mission. Sunday, May 15th - To commemorate the Palestinian exodus day 1948 (Nakba), when well over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homeland by Israel, angry Arab protesters from Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, along with their Palestinian brothers from Gaza and the occupied west bank will advance toward Israel, in what will be called the third intifada!

Egypt Warns Israel: Don't Interfere With Opening of Gaza Border Crossing!

Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces General Sami Anan warned Israel against interfering with Egypt's plan to open the Rafah border crossing with Gaza on a permanent basis, saying it was not a matter of Israel's concern, Army Radio reported on Saturday. Egypt announced this week that it intended to permanently open the border crossing with Gaza within the next few days. The announcement indicates a significant change in the policy on Gaza, which before Egypt's uprising, was operated in conjunction with Israel. The opening of Rafah will allow the flow of people and goods in and out of Gaza without Israel's permission or supervision, which had not been the case up until now. An Israeli official on Friday told The Wall Street Journal that Israel was troubled by the recent developments in Egypt, saying they could affect Israel's national security at a strategic level. Israel's blockade on Gaza has been a policy used in conjunction with Egyptian police to weaken Hamas, which has ruled over the strip since 2007. Rafah's opening would be a violation of an agreement reached in 2005 between the United States, Egypt, and the European Union, which gives EU monitors access to the crossing. The monitors were to reassure Israel that weapons and militants would not get into Gaza after its pullout from the territory in the fall of 2005.
