Corina Notyce: Five Stratcies for Finding Peace in the Turbulence of Caregiving!

In this blog post, Rosemary shares five strategies to help you, the caregiver, rest, relax and recharge while caring for someone you love with TBI. The human brain takes a long time to heal after trauma, and so it follows that caring for a loved one with brain injury can feel like an eternity. On top of that, outcomes from traumatic brain injury are hardly unpredictable. Odd symptoms come and go, personalities, roles, and relationships change, and stress can mount with each passing day. How can a caregiver tap into a sense of peace along the way? Here are a few strategiesthat worked for me, when I had the sense and presence of mind to use them! Accept not knowing. Accept what you know for what it is, and realize that you cannot change what already happened. You cannot accurately predict what already happened. You cannot accurately predict what may happened. You cannot accurately predict what may happen. But you can draw strength and breathe life into today by accepting it as it is without judgment. Create your own sacred space. A special chair, a sun porch, or a window seat can be the place you visit when you need to catch your breath. Keep a few favorite items near that space: a sacred statue, your own personal amulets, a framed quote or prayer that soothes you, or even worry beads or a stress ball to grip when you feel combustible. Sometimes, you may need to leave a volatile situation, just walk away, but try not to stomp and visit your safe space. Returning there again and again can direct your thoughts, spiritually, and guide you when you feel a deep sense of anger, anxiety or grief. Carve out small bits of time to revive. Make it a daily practice to use whatever small amounts of time you can find during the day to dedicate to yourself. When Hugh was exhausted after his rehab visits, he usually came home, ate and fell asleep for a while. I would go out on the back door and sit in the sun, read or just take in the spring air and breathe. Using these small windows of time to listen to music, read poetry, stretch or listen to music, read poetry, stretch or listen to a guided imagery tape for relaxation will give you the energy you need to continue on. Discover your mantra. The words we tell ourselves have incredible power over our moods and behavior. Find the words that calm you and repeat them to yourself throughout the daywhen you feel anger, fear or frustration spinning out of control. I often said the serenity prayer in my mind. It seems to cover all the bases for TBI care-giving! Some lyrics work well too, something short and sweet you can say over and over to yourself instead of the litany of defeat that replays in your mind. Here are two short lyric mantras that might work as well: Let it be, by the Beatles, and All will be well, the Gabe Dixon Band. And don't forget Norman Vincent Peale's sage advice: Change your thoughts and you change the world. 

Syria Invites U.N. Chemical Arms Chief, But Access Is In Doubt

The government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad invited chief U.N. chemical weapons investigator Ake Sellstrom to Damascus to discuss allegations of banned arms use in Syria’s civil war but suggested it would not compromise on access.
Syrian U.N. Ambassador Bashar Ja’afari told reporters that U.N. disarmament chief Angela Kane was also invited to Syria for talks about the U.N. chemical investigation.
So far Sellstrom’s team has not been active on Syrian territory because Assad’s government is only willing to allow it access to the city of Aleppo, where both sides have accused the other of using chemical weapons, Reuters reports.
“We are sure that Ms Kane and Dr Sellstrom will have constructive negotiations with the Syrian officials in order to reach an agreement, a mutual agreement on the terms of reference, mechanism and time frame of the mission,” he said.
Ja’afari said if they accept, the U.N. officials will be meeting with the Syrian foreign minister and national experts.
The Syrian envoy also made a fresh allegation against the rebels, suggesting they were stockpiling toxic chemicals.
“The Syrian authorities have discovered yesterday in the city of Banias 281 barrels filled with dangerous, hazardous chemical materials,” he said, adding that the chemicals were “capable of destroying a whole city, if not the whole country.”
Ja’afari said an investigation of the chemicals – which included monoethylene glycol and polyethylene glycol and were found at a storage site he said was linked to the “armed terrorist groups” – was still underway.
The Syrian government has denied using chemical weapons. It has in turn accused rebels of deploying them in the two-year civil war that the United Nations says has killed over 90,000 people since March 2011. The rebels deny responsibility for any chemical attacks.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged Syria to give Sellstrom unfettered access to investigate all alleged chemical arms incidents. But Assad’s government only wants the U.N. team to probe an incident in Aleppo from March, not others the U.S., Britain and France have written to Ban about. U.N. officials say U.N.-Syria negotiations on access have reached a deadlock.
Ja’afari was asked if the invitation to Sellstrom and Kane meant that Syria would consider allowing the U.N. team to go beyond Aleppo. He indicated that his government would not permit that, saying: “No, you wouldn’t jump to this conclusion.”
WRANGLING OVER ACCESS
Ban’s spokesman Martin Nesirky did not say whether the U.N. investigators would accept the invitation, which he described as “a move in the right direction.” He said the Syrian government needed to grant Sellstrom’s team broad access across Syria “without further delay and without conditions.”
Sellstrom’s team has been ready for well over two months to enter Syria but has been held up by the wrangling over access.
They recently visited neighboring to try to gather information. Acting U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Rosemary DiCarlo told reporters Sellstrom was in Washington on Monday for discussions with U.S. officials.
Ja’afari repeated Syria’s allegation that accusations of chemical attacks by government forces were an attempt to undermine their initial request for a U.N. investigation focusing solely on the Aleppo incident from March.
One senior Western diplomat said last month that Britain and the United States alone have notified Ban of 10 separate incidents of the use of chemical weapons by Assad’s forces. France has also said its own tests of samples from inside Syria proved Assad’s forces have used the nerve agent sarin.
Sellstrom is expected to deliver an interim report this month. U.N. envoys say it may just be oral and will likely be inconclusive since it is impossible for him to make definite pronouncements about the chain of custody of the samples he has received from Britain, France and the United States.
Syria is one of seven countries that has not joined the 1997 convention banning chemical weapons. Western nations believe it has caches of undeclared mustard gas, sarin and VX nerve agents.

New World Order Kills Democracy In Egypt

On Sunday, the Egyptian army and police slaughtered 51 unarmed, praying protestors.
The victims were part of a crowd praying outside the Republican National Guard headquarters in Cairo, where President Morsi (assuming he is still alive) is being held.
President Morsi is the first democratically-elected head of state in Egypt’s 5,000-year history. The way things are going, he could also be the last.
The army’s demolition of democracy, and its massacre of peaceful, unarmed protestors, seem likely to spark a civil war in Egypt. And civil wars do not end in democracy.
Why would Egypt’s fascist military leaders and the “deep state” they represent want civil war?
The Egyptian “deep state” consists of comprador billionaires and a corrupt military elite that lives on US aid. These people take orders from the global powers that be – the Bilderbergers, the Rothschilds, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, and their bought-and-paid-for politicians.
So if Egypt’s military has decided to massacre peaceful protestors at prayer, you can be sure that they are doing so as part of a larger strategy formulated by the globalists.
To understand that strategy, we must listen to the paid mouthpieces of the New World Order, and interpret their words.
Two of the New World Order’s biggest megaphones are the editorialists of The Wall Street Journal, and Thomas Friedman of The New York Times.
Last Friday, The Wall Street Journal ordered Egypt’s junta to follow in the footsteps of Pinochet’s Chile: “Egyptians would be lucky if their new ruling generals turn out to be in the mold of Chile’s Augusto Pinochet, who took over power amid chaos but hired free-market reformers and midwifed a transition to democracy.”
Pinochet was one of the worst butchers of the 20th century. After overthrowing and murdering democratically-elected President Allende in a CIA-sponsored coup on September 11th, 1971, Pinochet’s goons filled football stadiums full of people, tortured them, and massacred them.
So The Wall Street Journal wants Egypt’s junta to kill Morsi, just like Pinochet killed Allende, and employ widespread torture and mass murder. All in the name of “democracy.”
When the Egyptian junta decided to massacre the protestors outside Morsi’s prison, they were following the orders of the New World Order oligarchy – the people who own The Wall Street Journal and dictate its output.
Why do The Wall Street Journal’s owners want Egypt’s junta to massacre Muslim leaders and destroy political Islam in Egypt, in the same way that the CIA’s Pinochet massacred socialist leaders and destroyed socialism in Chile?
Let’s ask Thomas Friedman, the New World Order’s leading middlebrow mouthpiece.
In his August 2012 op-ed headlined “Morsi’s Wrong Turn,” Friedman attacked Morsi for attending the non-aligned summit in Tehran: “Excuse me, President Morsi, but there is only one reason the Iranian regime wants to hold the meeting in Tehran and have heads of state like you attend, and that is to signal to Iran’s people that the world approves of their country’s clerical leadership…Morsi’s first big trip shouldn’t have been to just China and Iran.”
Friedman’s diatribe was a New World Order warning to Morsi: Don’t try take Egypt out of the US-Israeli orbit! Don’t even think of joining the non-aligned movement! And don’t ever, EVER dream of creating a “clerical dictatorship,” meaning an Islamic society!
In the same op-ed, Friedman drew a line in the sand: Morsi had better support the Syrian rebels.
Another New World Order Mouthpiece, The Washington Post, viciously attacked Morsi for questioning the official story of 9/11. In an op-ed entitled “Getting Egypt’s Morsi to give up his 9/11 ‘truther’ talk” the Post wrote:
“Morsi has not been shy about airing his odious views. In a May 2010 interview with Brookings Institution scholar Shadi Hamid, Morsi dismissed al-Qaeda’s responsibility for the attacks. ‘When you come and tell me that the plane hit the tower like a knife in butter, then you are insulting us,’ Hamid reported Morsi as saying. ‘How did the plane cut through the steel like this? Something must have happened from the inside. It’s impossible.’ Similarly, in 2007, Morsi reportedly declared that the United States “has never presented any evidences [sic] on the identity of those who committed that incident.” In 2008, he called for a ‘huge scientific conference” to analyze “what caused the attack against a massive structure like the two towers.’”
Morsi, hearing so many warnings from the New World Order, apparently thought he could play both sides of the street: Defy the New World Order by working closely with Hamas and inching toward the non-aligned camp, while simultaneously taking money from the Saudis, Qataris and IMF, and offering at least verbal support to their mercenaries in Syria.
Morsi learned the hard way the truth of the old saying: “The only thing in the middle of the road is road kill.”
Now Thomas Friedman has published another New York Times op-ed laying bare the logic of the New World Order’s coup d’état in Egypt. It begins:
“Watching the toppling of the Muslim Brotherhood-led government in Egypt, the most interesting question for me is this: Will we one day look back at this moment as the beginning of the rollback of political Islam?”
That is what the West’s policy in the Islamic world – including the coup in Egypt – is all about: “The rollback of political Islam.”
Morsi, like the 9/11 Commission, was “set up to fail.” Now the Egyptian junta will try to do to political Islam in Egypt what Pinochet did to socialism in Chile.
But Islam is much more deeply-rooted than socialism. And no matter how hard the big Western think tanks try to dream up an apolitical Islam, no matter how many billions of dollars they throw at the problem, Islam remains “deen wa dowla” – not just a religion and a way of life, but a socio-political framework as well. And all the polls show that more than two-thirds of Muslims want a strict sharia-based society.
In Muslim-majority countries, democracy IS Islam.
If the New World Order wants to eradicate political Islam from Egypt, they cannot just kill a few tens of thousands of people like Pinochet did. They would have to massacre millions.
Not a very realistic plan.
The New World Order’s plan to roll back political Islam will itself be rolled back. The sooner Muslims overcome their differences and unite, the faster it will happen.

Dr. Kevin Barrett: Egypt's deniable coup: Another anti-Islam psy-op!

Luttwak's Coup d'Etat was the how to guide used by the perpetrators of 9/11, and the folks who just overthrew Morsi. American law bans any assistance to the government of any country whose duly elected head of government is deposed by military coup d'etat or decree. So what just happened in Egypt? Democratically elected Morsi was over-thrown and arrested by the military. The Constitution was suspended. Ruling party leaders were rounded up and imprisoned. The military seized TV and radio studios. But it wasn't a coup, the coup plotters insist. If they call it a coup, they will lose 1.5 billion dollars a year in US military aid, bribes to Egypt's junta to keep it subservient to Israel. Egypt's generals want to keep lapping up American money.They want to keep enslaving their country to IMF usury. They want to prevent their Muslim country from becoming a real Muslim country. And they want to keep kowtowing to Israel, and allowing the Palestinians to starve, while they arrest, torture, and kill Muslim activists. Egypt's coup that is not a coup is just the latest in a long line of covert coups, and those that don't. The latter are the topic of Edward Luttwak's 1969 book Coup d'Etat: A Practical Handbook. Luttwak shares with Paul Wolfowitz the dubious honor of being the world's leading neoconservative military strategist. His book Coup d'Etat is a how to guide for anyone who wants secretly, or at least deniably to overthrow a democratically-elected government. The key to a covert coup is good propaganda. If you can make enough people hate the democratically elected leader, it will be easy to overthrown him. and disguise the fact that a coup has occurred. By coincidence, I happened to be in Australia in 1974, just as the CIA was about yo overthrow democratically elected Prime Minister Geoff Whitlam in a covert coup d'etat. Here is how they did it. First, they used international banking institutions to strangle Australia's credit and damage its economy, just as the anti-Morsi coup plotters did in Egypt. Then they used domestic assets to further sabotage the economy.  Next, they used domestic assets to further sabotage the economy. So did the anti-Morsi coup plotters. Next, they used their control of the media to generate an endless barrage of anti-Whitlam propaganda, just as the Egyptian plotters used the controlled Egyptian media to crank out anti-Morsi propaganda. With the economy destroyed, and the targeted leader smeared by the media, it was easy to overthrow the elected leader and pretend that it was the will the will of the people. The CIA's overthrow of Geoff Whitlam in 1974 was designed to prevent

It was even conducted on a different continent. Philippe Karsenty, a deputy mayor of Neuilly sur Seine, who runs media watchdog Media Ratings, wrote on November 26, 2004 that the shooting scene had been faked by the cameraman, claiming that Muhammad had not been killed and that Enderlin and Chabot, France 2's news editor, should be sacked. The complex judicial saga that followed ended a few days ago. Karsenty was convinced of defamation and fined $ 7,000 by the Paris Court of Appeals. Reporter Charles Enderlin was born in France. A Jew, he got Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return and worked as Channel 2 reporter in Israel. Phlippe Karsenty is also Jewish. We was portrayed by Settler Chanel 2 reporter in Israel. He was portrayed by Settler Channel 7 as willing to help the IDF.In 2001, Israeli military officials stopped cameraman Talal Abu Rahma from traveling to London in order to receive the Rory Peck Award. They claimed this was due to concern for his life, this is an extraordinarily odd claim. Problematic Broadcast: Reaching court was probably expected by Chanel 2. After all, their one minute video broadcast had been heavily edited, and in a way that the fact could not been hidden. This can be understood, broadcasting the agony of the boy's last moments would have been violating his life for a second time. However, certain facts were concealed also by the IDF, which played an odd role in the entire affair. 

Allen L. Roland: Too Low and too Slow, SF Commercal Plane Crash!

As a former Navy carrier pilot, I am acutely aware of the importance of the thrust, power and drag curve when landing. It appears, as the enclosed videos indicate, that the pilots realized too late that the commercial aircraft was too low and too slow to add power and gain altitude before the recent tragic tragic crash at SF International airport. Having landed commercially at SF Airport countless times over the years, there is a few minute approach to the airport over water before landing which always reminds me of landing on the carrier as a Navy interceptor carrier pilot in the early 1960's. As a Navy pilot, with over 150 all weather landings, I was constantly aware of the thrust, power and drag curve as I maneuvered the plane for a landing on the carrier, always aware that if I got too low and too slow, the bottom would fall out of my ability to gain altitude by adding power, drag would prevail and the plane would stall and fall like a rock. This is apparently what happened at SF International a few days ago seconds before the commercial aircraft struck the ground as the enclosed video clearly shows and the cockpit recorder apparently indicates. The crash survivor comments also indicate that the aircraft was too low and too slow to gain precious altitude and overcome drag in the last few seconds before the crash. Voice recorder reveals that seven seconds before the plane hit into a seawall, one of the crew members called on the pilots to increase speed. Information from the flight data recorder said the plane was going well below the target landing speed, and the engine throttles advanced. Four seconds before impact, a stick shaker, a device that emits an oral and physical warning to the crew that the plane is about to stall, sounded off, NTSB Chairman Deborah Hersman said, You can well imagine the panic of the flight crew when the application of full power had no effect on aktitude, for they had apparently passed the bottom of the thrust, power and drag curve and they stalled before crashing. Michigan native Terry Nichols is a convicted accomplice in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing which claimed the lives of 168 people. Nichols met his future co-conspirator Tim McVeigh during as brief stint in the US Army. In 1994 and 1995, Nichols and McVeigh practiced ammonium nitrate bomb making at or near a Nichols' family property in eastern Michigan's Thumb region. No fewer than 24 witnesses saw Timothy McVeigh, just before and after the explosion, with a man who could not have been either Terry Nichols or convicted accomplice Michael Fortier. The FBI refused to release the many security camera videos from nearby properties which would have captured images of this other unidentified suspect.
