Jill Carroll's kidnappers are rapidly diminishing the tiny reservoir of sympathy for the Iraqi resistance movement, which still exists in this world. As a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, who has been humbled by his inability to prevent "collateral damage" to innocents, when such restraint might cause death or injury to his advisory team, I have spoken against the current war in Iraq and Afghanistan, which has brought almost unimaginable pain to the Iraqui people, since before its beginning, and I have helped to found VeteransAgainstTorture, because I fervently believe in the justice of that cause.
My profound sympathy for the plight of the Iraqui people does not extend to the vile kidnappers of this innocent girl. My message to them: "Keep it up, and you will count the destruction of our antiwar movement among your accomplishments.
Even God will not forgive you, if you do!

Veterans Against Torture
I am proud to be a founding member of Veterans Against Torture
When I served as Intelligence Operations Officer of the 4th US Armored Division in Goeppingen Germany, I was proud to work with some of the highly trained professional interrogators of our MI company.
If we want reliable intelligence, we cannot use shortcuts in that business. It takes a few days, but the result is always information on which our armed forces can act with confidence, and produce positive results. It's over: US Labor Decides for Peace
On Saturday, April 29, 2006, there will be a day of reckoning for the Bush Administration, whose members have been drawn from the privileged few of our society, and who have never found it necessary to serve in a war.
Trade unionists, religious and community groups, civil rights and social justice organizatiions, environmentalists, students, and people from all walks of life, will tell your administration to end the war in Iraq, dismantle US bases, and bring our troops home now. Instead of wars and occupations, let us fund jobs, health care, education and housing.
President Bush: Though I, as a combat veteran, respect your office, you, who avoided service in Vietnam by flying National Guard aircraft in Texas, while I was privileged to serve as Advisory Team Leader to the 748 Montagnard Regional Forces Company in Ngo Trang, between Kontum and Dak To, and at Trung Lap, at the edge of the "Iron Triangle", are not qualified to speak for the many brave combat veterans of our great nation.
I respectfully request that you lead by example, as George Washington did, or get out of Iraq!

History Lessons For Those Who Support Hamas
When the Nazi Party was new, many supported Hitler because the mainstream political organizations were unable to help Germany recover after World War I. Starvation was common: In Bohemia, in February 1919, 20 percent of the babies were born dead, and 40 percent died within the first month of birth. Alsac Lorraine, which had been in dispute by both countries, was returned to France. Most of the province of Posen, with 600,000 German inhabitants, was given to Poland. All together, 28,000 square miles of German territory, inhabited by 7 million Germans, were lost, and Germany was deprived of over 60,800,000 tons of coal annually.
Since the mainstream political parties were unable to change the dismal lot of the average German, many of them turned to the Nazi Party, and a large majority did so in protest against the impotence of the major parties, and the hope that many of the more extreme statements of the Nazis were bluffs.
I suspect that the Palestinians, who have lost so much of their land, and who are now without a realistic hope for an improvement of their economic situation, have supported Hamas for the same reasons.
It is time for the major economic powers of this world to take an active role in supporting the economic aspirations of the mainstream Palestinian household - - - before it is too late!

Investigator of US Human Rights Abuses in Iraq Murdered?
According to the Wayne Madsen Report,the US Army Colonel who was investigating human rights abuses and contract violations by US contractors was killed after demanding answers to the many questions he had raised. A USIS (US Investigations Services) manager interfered with the crime scene, and the colonel's suicide not was not in his own handwriting. The manager was not tested for gunpowder residue on his hands. As the ancient Romans said: "Sic transit gloria mundi" - thus passes the glory of the world.

New Orleans: Two Trillion for War, Pennies for New Orleans
In a "Guardian" article, Joseph Stiglitz, a Columbia University Professor who won the Nobel proze for eaconomics in 2001, says the real cost of the Iraq war is likely to be between one and two trillion dollars, up to 10 times more than previously expected. Included are lifetime disability and healthcare for injured soldiers, as well as the impact on the American economy. The GOOD news is that Halliburton will continue to do well.

On December 15, China National Petroleum Corp decided to fight their largest customer (the USA, in whose army I served as Advisory Team Leader and Intelligence Operations Officer, for the few remaining major oil resources in this rapidly shrinking world. At 35 billion barrels, AT LEAST twice the amount in the North Sea, and perhaps THREE TIMES MORE, the medieval government of Kazakhstan, lost in a time warp of their own making, shares many human rights values with the mad dictators of China.
Bottom Line: They are going to control the oil, without which we are ultimately destined to become a third rate world power, and probably descend into the dark ages, unless our plans to attack Iran are successful, and that is very doubtful, even when we nuke them, which seems to be our current plan.
