Carpe Diem: Medvedev Offers a Dialog Based on Trust.

The morning after Barack Obama's election, Dmitry Medvedev called Obama. "I hope for constructive dialogue with you, based on trust and considering each other's interest." He then went on to charge America with fomenting the Russia-Georgia war, and said he had been forced to put Iskander missiles in Kalingrad, formerly known as the German town of "Koenigsberg" = King's Mountain, to counter the US missile shield Bush had pledged to Poland.
Russia also indicated that the case for the deployment of Russian missiles in Kalingrad was not closed.
Moscow also offered Spain and Germany use of Russian territory to supply NATO troops in Afghanistan - the country where superpowers like Russia go, if they want to be humiliated. As our supply line from the Pakistani port of Karachi through the Khyber Pass to Kabul becomes ever more perilous, this has to be seen as a gesture of friendship by a Russia that shares, as a fellow victim of Islamic terror, the US detestation of al-Qaida.

Israel Starving Palestinian Children

In what the UN has described as "collective punishment", the Israeli government has cut all food shipments to the refugee settlements in Gaza, and placed the occupants under siege.

According to the commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, there is no more food in the refugee camp's warehouses, and people, especially children, are starving. When Israeli Prime Minister Olmert was confronted with the situation, his only comment was: "I must look into that."

Bush Effigy Burned in Baghdad

This Bush effigy was humiliated and burned in the same Baghdad square where Sadam Hussein's giant statue was once humiliated and destroyed.

According to Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, the "security" deal offered by the United States is a surrender to the U.S. interests.

Al-Sadr is calling the U.S. the enemy of Islam.

Vo Nguyen Giap Predicts US Defeat in Iraq

Famous last words: "All nations fighting for their legitimate interests and sovereignty will surely win."

General Giap emphasized that that the major powers of today should not underestimate weaker countries' desire for independence.

"Vietnam proves that if a nation is determined to stand up, it is very strong. We are very proud that Vietnam was the first colony that could stand up and gain independence on its own with the victory at Dien Bien Phu."

Giap mistakenly believes that he "liberated" South Vietnam, but Truong Nhu Tang, the former Minister of Justice, writing in his book: A Vietcong Memoir, proves him wrong, by fleeing the "liberated" country in disillusionment and despair. He now lives in exile in Paris, the highest level official to have defected from Vietnam to the West.

The country had been partitioned when I fought there, and the war lasted until April 30, 1975, when Saigon, capital of South Vietnam, fell to communist forces.

Our doubtful "Ally's" Lies !

Five weeks after the war in the Caucasus, the mood is shifting against Georgian President Saakashvili. Some Western intelligence reports have undermined Tblisi's version of events, and there are now calls on both sides of the Atlantic for an independent investigation.

Unfortunately, Republican presidential candidate John McCain, whom I will be voting for in the upcoming national election, had declared "Today, we are all Georgians!" without checking the facts in this case. John, if you really want my vote, check your facts, before you get us all into a "Nuqular" war, as your buddy Bush likes to mispronounce it. Do some homework, and don't go half-cocked any more.

It was the Surge That Failed

Here is the reality of what is happening in Afghanistan, as reported by a man who knows the area intimately.

Decades from now, Obama will begin to realize that more troops merely mean more targets for Taliban fighters and suicide bombers, and a never-ending cycle of a rising civilian and our military's death toll and no jobs, no hope for the people who live in that desolate country.

War without end, war without hope of victory.

Don't vote for Obama - He has no idea what is going on in this world.
