Black Death Kills al-Qaeda Operatives in Algeria

The "Black Death", that horrible plague also known as Bubonic Plague, has killed at least 40 Al-Qaeda operatives training in a forest camp in Algeria. The plague outbreak came to light when security forces found a body by a roadside. Now al-Qaeda chiefs fear the plague has been passed to some of their other cells in Algeria -or Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. The plague spreads quickly via bites from infected rat fleas, and kills within hours. Symptoms include boils in the groin, neck, and armpits. In Pneumonic Plague, airborne bacteria spread like flu. It can be in the body for more than a week- highly contageous, but not revealing tell-tale symptoms.
One medical expert said: "The leaders fear surviving terrorists will surrender to escape a horrible death - most of the terrorists do not have the basic medical supplies to treat the disease!" Please click on the title for more information.
