Russia Says: Their S-300 Missile deal with Iran is NOT off!!

Dan Plesh, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London, says: US bombers and long range missiles are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours, since the firepower of US forces has quadrupled since 2003, accelerating under our "peace president" Obama! Of course, I did NOT vote for Obama, since I knew that his promises for peace were merely a gimmick to attract the votes of a gullible constituency! Do you still remember the "Nobel Peace Prize" given to Obama by those who truly believed that our "President" actually wanted to bring peace to our troubled world? 'They', continued Dan Plesh, (meaning the USA and Israel) are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran in a few hours.
It seems that Dan Plesh is confused about what is likely to happen, should our foolish 'President', spurred by Israel, actually pursue an attack on Iran. If Russia pursue the sale of their S-300 missiles to Iran, their S-300's would effectively shield the Iranian nuclear sites against a potential Israeli air strike. The S-300 system, which can track targets and fire at aircraft to 120 km (70 miles) against an Israeli air strike, The S-300 features high jamming immunity, and is able to simultaneously engage up to 100 targets. When our government objected to the Russian sale, the Russians warned us that they did not need advice from our president for their arms sales!

Actually, I have to paraphrase Goering here, because we no longer have a farm culture, but one based on shipping our industrial jobs to an impoverished nation where the cost of labor is much lower than here, in the United States. It looks as though 2009 was the year in which our troops suffered the highest number of casualties (521), but it looks as though there is still hope for this year, since our tragic tally so far is already up to 380. Actually, our US Tally was only 244 this year -so far- since the UK came in at 77, and other countries suffered 59. Behind these numbers is a grieving family, who will no longer see the soldier whom they sent to war, yet who managed a smile before his departure, assuring them he would be 'careful'. Before I left for Vietnam, to serve as Advisory Team Leader, my father pulled me aside to a room in our house, where my mother could not hear our conversation: During his stern lecture, he reiterated his distaste for our nation's leaders that took me away from our family. Then, he advised me sternly: "When I was forced to serve in the NAZI army, I had a lot of political arguments with my officers, but they always volunteered for the most dangerous missions, saving the lives of their men by risking their own. If you can not live up to their high standards, I don't want you to return to this house." After I survived the many ambushes in the "Iron Triangle" of Vietnam, I was proud to report to my father: "Mission Accomplished, all of my men returned safely to our United States." That was the last time I saw my stern father smile, before his untimely death a few years ago!

Why Bright Colors in Your Food May be Bad for Your Health.

Virginia Sole-Smith, who is associated with Planet Green, says food manufacturers use about 15 million pounds of eight synthetic dyes, which end up in our food each year. In fact, per capita consumption of food dyes has increased fivefold since 1955, thanks mostly to 'fun' colors in breakfast cereals, fruit drinks and candies. A new report from the Center for Science in the Public Interest says that synthetic food dyes pose risks of cancer, hyperactivity in children and allergies. The top offenders include: Red 40, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6, which are all contaminated with known carcinogens, says the CSPI. Red 3, which the Food and Drug Administration has banned for use in drugs and cosmetics, remains in our food supply, with 200,000 pounds per year in goods like Betty Crocker Fruit Roll-Ups and ConAgra Kid Cuisine frozen meals. Then, there is Blue 1, Red 40, and Yellow 6, which can cause rare but serious allergic reactions in some people. According to CSPI executive director, Michael F. Jacobson, these synthetics do absolutely nothing to improve the nutritional quality or safety of our foods, but often trigger behavior problems in children, and very likely, cancer in others.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich: Afghanistan won't 'end well'

During a recent visit to Iowa, the former Speaker of the House predicted our US Army's failure in Afghanistan, with the words: "our war in Afghanistan won't end well". He also advised our war hawks: "We are in enormous danger because we consistently underestimate how hard this is": Could he have been referring to the sloppy intelligence information disseminated by "our" Central Intelligence Agency? Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele recently faced a week of negative press coverage and calls for his resignation after making similar statements at a Republican fundraiser in Connecticut, but Steele's rough treatment after suggesting that the war in Afghanistan couldn't be won didn't seem to faze Gingrich, who charged ahead in arguing that the war likely won't end in victory. Gingrich asserted that the counterinsurgency doctrine created by General David Petraeus "doesn't go deep enough for a place like Afghanistan". "You're dealing with Afghan culture that is fundamentally different than us, in ways we don't understand", Gingrich said. The war "is not going to end well." At last, we finally hear some words of truth from a 'professional' politician.
