900 Billion for Afghan Defense, not one cent for US Teachers!

Good news: Sometime between 2013 and 2016, US surge forces in Afghanistan "might" be drawn down to dip "somewhere" below the 68,000 level! (Unless, of course, there are 'unforeseen' events). When Obama entered office, and just before he picked up his Nobel Peace Prize from a VERY confused Prize Committee, there were only 31,000 US troops in Afghanistan). When would our troops dwindle to near zero? 2019? 2025? NEVER? - We ignorant taxpayers have no way of knowing, as long as our wonderful news-media continues to worship in front of Obama's shrine. Our 'high command', civilian and military, are dreaming of, and most forcefully recommending to the president, a "forever" war - one which the Office of Budget and Management, estimated would cost almost $900 billion - after all, it's ONLY money. (OUR MONEY). Before you sink into despair, please check some wonderful "how to" books on Amazon.com: The American Way of War: How Bush's Wars became Obama's, Chalmers Johnson's Dismantling the Empire: America's Last Best Hope, Nick Turse's The Case for Withdrawal from Afghanistan, and Andrew Basevich's bestselling "Washington Rules: America's Path to Permanent War". All are connected, some more intimately than others, to give you some hope for America's future!
